About the Department

Department of Botany has been established on June 1971. It is noted for good academic record and devoted service of the staff members for the welfare of the students. Our department is targeting mainly on the academically poor students and help them to gain goodacademic status. And gained many University ranks including I and II ranks ,our students have emerged up and are holding higher posts in medical ,Judicial, Revenue teaching , research scholars and in various other reputed departments. A greater Co- ordination among the faulty members is the strength of the our department. With the duty conscious and deeply devoted staff members are maintaining a standard for Botany department in our esteemed institution.

Department Vision :

To upgrade the Department into PG Dept. and Research Centre
To start PG diploma course in plant tissue culture and medicinal botany.
To motivate the students in the research field
To mould the students into a good citizen..

Department Mission :

To have thorough knowledge in conventional Botany and to gain exposure in developing fields like Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnologyetc.
To focus the areas where Entrepreneurial scope for Botanists 
To create awareness about the environment, Bioethics and Biodiversity conservation. 
Providing job oriented papers.
Conducting coaching classes for for employment opportunities encouragement.
To faculty & students to update their knowledge in the latest science and technology.
